Orchid Giving Circle’s motto is “Asian women caring and sharing.” And the circle’s members do exactly that. For the third year, they distributed money to area nonprofits that help North Texas’ Asian-American community. This year’s total was $112,000, split among nine organizations.
Recipients include Asian Breast Health Outreach Project, Catholic Charities Fort Worth, Chetna, Dallas Holocaust Museum Center for Education and Tolerance, Health Hub, International Leadership of Texas, Mosaic Family Services, Heart House and IGNITE Texas.
Founded in 2015 by the Dallas Women’s Foundation, the Orchid Giving Circle pools resources to support social change projects and organizations led by Asian-American women. Its members are Asian-American philanthropists who represent a range of cultures, ethnicities and professions. They’ve modeled their organization after many successful Asian-American giving circles nationwide.
